Disneyland, Hong Kong

What draws us to Disneyland is the exhuberance and excitement that’s created by both children and their parents while they enjoy and entertain. Hong Kong Disneyland is no different and yet different from other Disneyland’s as they go. There are unique rides and few new ones like the one we saw in the Iron Man Experience. It has been added after the acquisition of Marvel Universe by Disney.

Disneyland, Hong Kong

From the Sunny Bay MTR Station where we took the Disneyland train, the show started. The entry was themed for the upcoming Halloween Festival. We had booked our tickets on Klook and saved few dollars. The first thing we did was take a Disneyland Railroad to the other end to start from back and then come to front exit. It was a good plan. We first landed in Fantasyland which is mostly for kids. We tried our hand at The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh but found it childish.

We immediately moved to the Tomorrowland which was supposed to have two of the most popular rides - The Hyperspace Mountain and the Iron Man Experience. Hyperspace Mountain was a Star Wars scene where a roller coaster took us through a war between the Republic and the Empire near Tatooine. We thoroughly loved it. We took pictures with R2D2 as well. Iron Man was ok. We were hungry and decided to settle at a restaurant for light brunch. The Disney Parade was arriving and we didn’t want to miss it.

After a light meal we went for river safari and Mystic Manor as they were easy to do activities. We liked the safari more. There were Disney characters posing for a photograph with people waiting in queue. We tried Minnie Mouse but the queuing was limited. This was one of the most irritating things we faced at Disneyland.

With R2D2
After a while we went for Grizzly Gulch. It is another roller coaster ride but open air and with few twists. Being a Monday, it took us hardly 10 minutes to settle on the ride. It was thrilling. Next to it was Toy Story Land where the first ride was a paratrooper. It was good but took us lots of waiting time. The rolling ship was a better ride and more exciting. We were almost done for the day, tired as we were.

Exit Gate, Disneyland HK

We wanted to stay for the closing hours of Disneyland to watch the fire cracker show but couldn’t help ourselves. Winding up, we exited from the main gate back to Sunny Bay and then back to Mongkok. This was our second Disneyland visit after Disneyland Tokyo.
