Everest Base Camp Trek Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3 - Part 4 - Part 5 - Part 6
At night we had a scuffle with our trekking agency as they were forcing us to eat food from restaurant of our hotel. Namche is unique in the EBC route as it has numerous options for eating and shopping. This was another way for the agency for earning money. We rebelled and ate at a nearby bakery.

Next morning we started for Norgay Chorten which is a monument for the greatest sherpa of Nepal. It was a short but hard upward trek but thanks to sunny day and clear sky we enjoyed the outing. Norgay Chorten has a statue of Tenzing Norgay and a couple of viewpoints overlooking a deep valley. It was lukewarm here and we enjoyed a good break.

Next we climbed to Amadablam Lodge which is a sharp climb of an hour. It took more than an hour to reach the lodge but once we were there we relaxed on a table set outside. With sun and slight wind we felt drowsy. Alcohol was anyway not allowed in the entire trip. We played cards and ordered food.

Some of us went further to Sanasa Lodge which was another half mile ahead and from where Mount Everest was visible. This whole acclimatisation exercise was pleasant and I still remember planning to stay here for couple of days when we get back. Before evening we started back as in the dark the sharp decline would have proven fatal.

At Namchi we decided to go to a famous diner called German Bakery. It was so warm and cosy we stayed there till 10 at night. We were served the world’s best American Choupsey and Farmhouse Pizza or so we thought after an exhausting outing. The coffee was also amazing. Next morning we had to start for Tiangboche. Base Camp was still far away but we were inching towards it slowly.
