Cabo de Rama Fort, Goa

  • Take our couple of hours for this place, you will love exploring different corners of the fort.
  • Nearby Cabo de Rama beach is good but the view from the cliff that drops to this beach is amazing. There is a sea facing restaurant also but its a bit costly.

One of the hidden gems of Goa, Cabo de Rama fort is spectacular. A proper fort with layers, viewpoints, a turquoise lake and beach, we instantly fell for this place. The fort is in south Goa and we found it by accident on our way to Agonda Beach. The approach road to Cabo de Rama has sea on the right side and hills on the left.

Sea view from Cabo de Rama

There is ample parking given very few people visit this place. A small walk on the right side from the main gate takes you towards the sea where one of the towers is intact. Stepping down from the other side of the fort you reach the wall from where the sea is visible. You can continue ahead or take left.

Turquoise Lake @ Cabo de Rama

A lake is visible on the left from the wall. Once you climb down you see it in its entirety without the interference of trees. It’s turquoise in colour. Lying among the green trees in a pristine environment with little tourists around, the lake generates an appeal that’s worth the visit.

Cabo de Rama Viewpoint

Little away from the fort is the Cabo de Rama beach and a viewpoint. There are couple of luxury looking resort visible from the cliff and a sea facing restaurant, all very appealing. We enjoyed the fine weather there and started to move towards Agonda beach. We had to cover Palolem as well today and then return back to Baga.
