Brussels

Trip: Luxembourg > Brussels > Amsterdam > Bruges > Fredrichshafen > Zermatt

We reached the capital of Belgium in the morning as we would have the entire day to explore the 'eccentric city'. The first item on agenda was to have the famous Belgian Beer. We strode towards Grote Markt. It is the centre of Brussels and is very near to the main railway station.

Grand  Place @ Brussels

We enjoyed a fine glass of Belgian Beer looking at Grand' Place which is a huge masterpiece of architecture in Grote Markt. We moved further to the Grand Cathedral.

Grand Cathedral @ Brussels

The cathedral was a fine work or art. We moved to the Royal Palace grounds. By the time we were already in a dazed state thanks to the 7.5% alcohol content of the beer we had. It was time to look for our youth hostel.

After a comfortable night rest at the youth hostel, we were to start for Amsterdam. A steady morning walk from youth hostel for one and a half miles brought us back to the main station from where we took the train.
